This was my approach for selecting the best math tutoring service out there:

  1. Test The Leading Training Courses - Firstly, I wanted to ensure that I tested all of the leading tutoring courses on the market. I chose the following brands: Learner, Varsity, Wyzant, Khan Academy, and Tutor.com.
  2. Sample Size - I signed up for all tutoring services. My daughter used each service for two weeks to figure out which one she liked best and worked.
  3. Rating System - We both took extensive notes and then rated each course together on each category with a simple 1-5 rating system (1 = not great, 5= amazing)
  4. Factors Compared - I rated each course based on the following factors: personalization of matching to child, quality of tutors, availability of tutors, effectiveness, and McKenzie's enjoyment.
  5. Choosing A Winner - Lastly, we added up all the points for each course and gave them a final score to choose a winner!
